You will find these hardy horses anywhere and everywhere in Ísland. They are part of the bigger appeal to visit this country. Many tourists will try traditional Icelandic delicacies during their stay. Little do they know, horse, puffin, sheep and plenty of seafood are a stable diet for the islanders here. One month of every year, there is a sort of celebration with lots of fermented food, ram heads, dried and salted fish and jellied testicles. I believe these particular horses may escape that fate, as they were used predominantly for horseback riding.
